Lloyd C. Chaser, Photographer

I started shooting landscape photography over 20 years ago while on
a two and a half month journey across the United States on board my
1979 CB650 Honda.  I traveled 9,687 miles; from Richmond, Virginia to
California, north to Oregon and back to Richmond.  This was an
experience that even after more than 20 years remains fresh in my
mind.  This was to be my “last hurrah” after finishing a masters degree
in social work and embarking on what has turned out to be a 30 year
career in social work.

Since my cross country journey, I have taken various trips and have
had a variety of opportunities to shoot what I see, and to shoot the
image the way I would like others to experience it.  In this time, my
interest in photography has become a passion as I continued to develop
my skills behind the camera.  My skill and technique have evolved over
the years until I find myself having moved, somewhat reluctantly into
the age of digital photography.  I have continued to evolve
stylistically and technically as I have explored other subjects and the
wonders of digital imaging.  This is of course an ongoing process for
me.

I still enjoy working on refining and defining my self and the
photographic images that I enjoy shooting and sharing with others.  I
now make more and more excursions in order to find subjects to shoot.
Most recently, I spent two weeks in New Zealand, exploring the south
island for two full weeks.  Next, it seems I will find myself on a
cruise to Alaska.  My next trip will hopefully be either Ireland and/or
Scotland.  In the mean time, I will continue to explore the rich
Virginia country side.

ArtsAround the Lake and the Stoney Point shows are behind me and I am focusing on adding images to my we site.  I’ve added quite a few of my older images under the Sunrise/Sunset and Landscape/Flower sections.  I will be adding new images to the Alaska section very soon as well.  Visit often.  I have no shows coming up in the immediate future, nothing until February, ‘10 at St. Mathias Church.

I am still active with art6 and we are still a thriving gallery.  Please come by for the Think Small Show opening on First Friday, November 6.  Visit our web site often at www.art6.org.

Well, it’s nearly here; Arts Around the Lake at the University of Richmond!! I’m frantically preparing some of my images from my cruise to Alaska last month. I’ll have a number of new images at the show and I will be adding some to my site in the next few days. Please visit often to look for these new images.

This is otherwise a busy month for me. I’ll also have several pieces at the Gallery Show, a benefit at the Unitarian Church at 1000 Blanton Avenue in Richmond near Byrd Park. This will be my 3rd year there. Last year was a great year for me there. I sold two of my most popular Richmond images shot one sunny day in the fall of 2006. This display will be from October 14 through the 18th. It’s a benefit, so even if you don’t need any more phogographs to adorn your home or office (but, I’m sure you do) come by and browse the many other artists and buy!

One more show for me this year will be at The Stony Point Fashion Mall. This is the ART AFFAIR. This show will take place on Saturday and Sunday, October 17 & 18. This will be my first year there but I hear it’s a great show. So, come on down!! I hope to see my friends and neighbours there and, I hope to make some new friends. A very exciting month!!

Lastly, I will be continuing to modify my site to make it easier to browse and choose and purchase my photographs.  For the time being, you can contact me through my web site to order prints of almost any size.  Thanks for visiting.  Lloyd

As a member of art 6 I am proud to announce our next annual Members Exhibition. The show includes the work of over 15 member artists of art 6. You will see a variety of mediums of expression including watercolors, photography, collage and sculpture. Also included in the exhibit will be displays of poetry and poetry readings. There will be something to please, delight and excite everyone. The show opens with the First Friday reception on July 3 and runs through August 15.

Please visit art 6. Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday from noon – 4 PM and by appointment. Please visit our website (www.art6gallery.org) for more information.

My website is an ever evolving work in progress. New samples of my photographs and the stories behind the scenes are updated on a regular basis.

Feel free to comment and join the conversation. Let me know if there is a particular photograph you enjoy or if you would like to add one to your home, business or marketing materials (online or off). Thanks for stopping by and visiting.
